Be Mindful.
Meditation. Contemplation. Self-Reflection. Quietness. Serenity. Calmness. Stillness. Timelessness. Minfulness. All these words describe my paintings and I do it with minimal yet simple images in monochromatic colours. Hand sewn lines on the canvas and multiple layers of colour may not be always visible at first, but the materiality is perceivable in its atmosphere. Canvas threads become line drawings, adding tactility of the material and visual interest of personality.
What I try to achieve in my works is similar to the principle of Zen garden, in which the emphasis of the self awareness lies on the simple, tranquil, empty, serene and calm place in relation with nature. The presence of mindfulness in my painting alludes to the visual experience in landscapes and the perceptible energy in nature. I invite viewers to take a moment to pause and be sentimental of what they see and where their mind rest in search of tranquility and comfort to be mindful with abstract minds.
