Moment of Pause

Stillness. Calmness. Emptiness. Quietness. Serenity. Timelessness. Mindfulness. Meditation. Contemplation. Self-Reflection.

All these words describe my paintings and I do it with minimal yet simple images in monochromatic colours. Hand sewn canvas threads create lines that adds the sense of tactility of the material. Multiple layers of colour brings the atmospheric visual interest of the originality.

What I try to achieve in my works is inspired from the principles of Zen garden, in which the emphasis of the self awareness lies on the simple, tranquil, empty, serene and calm place in relation with nature. The presence of mindfulness in my paintings  alludes to the visual experience in landscapes and the perceptible energy in nature. I invite viewers to take a moment to pause and be sentimental of what they see and where their mind rest in search of tranquility and comfort to be mindful with abstract minds.
