Moment of Pause
Stillness. Calmness. Emptiness. Quietness. Serenity. Timelessness. Mindfulness. Meditation. Contemplation. Self-Reflection.
All these words describe my paintings that are abstract minimal paintings with use of simple monochromatic colours. Lines created by hand sewn canvas threads add the sense of tactility of the material and the originality. Multiple layers of the colour brings the subtle atmospheric vibe in the painting.
My works are inspired from the principles of Zen garden, in which the emphasis of the self awareness lies on the simple, tranquil, empty, serene and calm place in relation with nature. The presence of mindfulness in my paintings alludes to the visual experience in landscapes and the perceptible energy in nature. I invite viewers to take a moment to pause and be sentimental and mindful of what they see and where their mind rest in search of tranquility and comfort.
