"Inscape reveals the intimate wanderting of memory not fixed in place or time. Inscape is what emerges when landscape is penetrated, intellectually and emotionally ... into a world of poetic sensibilty ... the evoking of a mood, a feeling about a landscape that I have [and] would like to get down on canvas." _ Takao Tanabe
The series of paintings in "in-scape" suggest the impression of emptiness of the prairie landscape which allows the viewer to use contemplation and imagination to fiil in the void both literally and metaphorically. The prairies evoke emotion and appear at a distance from the viewer. The simple composition of land, sky and horizon adds to timeless atmosphere of solitude.
