Abstract. Colour. Light. Mountains.
geometry & shape
My initial inspiration for the landscape began with prairies and gradually moved toward mountains. The benefit of living in Alberta where both prairies and mountains coexist, along with my personal experience and memories, motivated me to visually explore the vastness of atmospheric landscape. From the recollection of memories, both kept and forgotten, I recreate imaginary landscape. The place described in the painting does not depict a particular location, yet it connects with one’s memorable place and a dream destination. The colour acts as a visual cue to enhance the atmosphere, the presence of timelessness, placeless and the mystery in my paintings.
